Mlle. Lenormand Cartomancy Fortune Telling Deck from Piatnik: a card-by-card feature by Tarot Zamm.
These distinguished cards have sophistication and are Stylish both front with an ornate reverse back. They belong to the traditions of the Original Lenormand decks and quite possibly one of the true favourites with Lenormand tarot enthusiasts as the cards contain no words directly on them which is often preferred as this can distract one from the playing card suits, classic symbolic imagery and colours. They are a little different from other European Lenormand influences as well. Very quaint oracle cards. Quality. Size 6 cm x 9 cm (2 ½” X 3 ½”)approx each. Contents: 36 Cards Symbolic English Translation Included. Made In Austria.
The principles established in 1824 have guided succeeding generations in the management and operation of the Viennese Playing Card, Ferdinand Piatnik and Sons.
Today, advances in technology supported by innovative management have continued the tradition with an emphasis on the demands of the current demographics.
Annual production of 25 million playing cards, 2 million games and over 1 million puzzles proves Design, Quality, Selection are still important today. Over the years production methods, distribution and products may have changed significantly but the standards of excellence have not.

5.0 out of 5 stars – Great Traditional Deck!
I gave away my first deck of Lenormand cards to a friend and needed to find a new set. I chose these because the colours are bolder than the Blue Owl deck I previously owned. I also like that this deck has the playing card inserts – Why? Mainly because some cards can double as people in spreads and so if you see the that there is a Jack, Queen or King in the insert you are alerted to that fact could be serving that purpose in a reading.
I also like that the pictures are traditional because for me that helps me to remember the context of the deck a bit better. There are a lot of beautiful modernized decks out there that don’t necessarily capture the essence and scope of the card’s message and meanings.
There’s something about keeping the Rider- a man on a horse vs. a man on motorcycle or bike etc. that keep it all in the right perspective. The book card on this deck shows an open book which to me is a bit different but okay.
Also, the Clouds, Moon and Sun are all seascape scenes that are a little bit different but it works for me as they are all emotion cards and water as an element does relate to emotions. These are a bit smaller than playing cards- the stock is nice and thick and they travel easily. Hope this helps you if you are looking add a deck to your collection or buy your first.
