Ramses Tarot

Ramses Tarot of Eternity by Giordano Berti and Severino Baraldi: a card-by-card feature by Tarot Zamm.

The Ramses Tarot of Eternity deck combines scenes of ancient Egypt with the traditional tarot structure. The period covered dates from about 1304 BC when Sethi I ascended to the throne through the reign of Merenptah (1224 BC). The major arcana focuses on the era of the great pharaoh Ramses II with episodes from his family, battles, religion and court life. The minor arcana features scenes from the daily life of the time. Writer Giordano Berti and artist Severino Baraldi have tried to be as historically accurate as possible. Each card gives the number and title in six languages. The instruction booklet includes a special “Eye of Horus” spread. (Learntarot.com)

Like the Pharaoh who expanded the Egyptian empire, Ramses: Tarot of Eternity pushes the boundaries of Egyptian-themed tarot decks with amazing beauty and utility. Artist Severino Baraldi does not imitate Egyptian art styles, but creates snapshots of the past using detailed research and a realistic style that help you step into the past to find patterns indicating the future. Giordano Berti blends Egyptian mythology, rituals, and ancient esoteric formulas with the symbolic structure developed by 19th century French occultists, making this deck surprisingly easy to use.
