Insights and Perspectives by the TAROT ZAMM: “If today were the last day of my life.”
We always hear the saying “to live each day as if it were the last.” It’s easier said than done for how can you do everything that you want to do in just one day?
We open ourselves to such line of thinking to give us the urgency or rather an ultimatum to pull ourselves together to do things right.
However, I believe that with such short time we give ourselves, the original noble and empowering intention can easily backfire by putting so much unnecessary pressure on ourselves.
If we want to do things right and do what we believe is the important things in our lives – whatever they are, and want to be successful at it, then it is best to approach it in a more realistic and practical way.
Without sounding morbid or morose, and in trying to help you successfully “live each day as if it were the last,” it would be better to look at the idea of “living fruitfully each day of the last 30 days of your life.”
However, I’d like to emphasise that no matter how long or short you give yourself this “mock-ultimatum” it will really be a mockery if there’s no commitment on your part to see things through.
Start by dividing your 30 days into two. Set your most important milestones for the first 15 days. Focus on what you can do for yourself – regarding tough issues such as love, happiness, forgiveness, gratefulness, tying up the lose ends, closures and fulfilling dreams.
Take responsibility to ensure that you’re able to give all these to yourself. When you do this, you take back the power and free yourself from the false expectation that you can only find them from others.
Answer these questions: How do I want myself to be? How do I want to live my life? What significant memories can I create and take with me?
The next 15 days is set for what you can do for others. Look yourself in the mirror every morning and ask yourself these three questions:
1. “If this were the last day of my life, what can I do for someone in my family or friends who needs help the most? How can I help them in such a way that they can continue to improve their situation even when I’m not there for them? When you do this, you do not only help another soul but also leave a beautiful and powerful memory about how your kind heart was part of making that significant change in someone else’s life.
2. . “If this were the last day of my life, what cause do I really believe in and what can I do to support them in such a way that it will also allow others to help them even when I’m not in the picture?
3. “If this were the last day of my life, what can I do for mother nature to remember me by?”
Everything we have touched is mere suggestion. Hopefully, it can also inspire you to make create your own path on how to live each day as if it were your last.
Until the next time. Stay true. Live well. And remain victorious. This is Zamm.
